What are Walgroovies?
Walgroovies are gatherings hosted by school families designed to bring together the Walgrove community while fundraising on behalf of the school. Walgroovy events range from family movie night to kids’ craft parties to dinner parties for adults.
How do they make money?
Walgroovies are sponsored and paid for entirely by host families. Each event has a requested per person or per family donation. All of the money donated by event attendees goes straight to Friends of Walgrove.
100% of ALL donations goes to fund our enrichments and teachers’ aides.

Family Karaoke (October 18)
Come take your place in the spotlight!
Hosted by Bartons, Fahlsings, Gray-Youngs, Hughes-Killians, Meles, and Vanderwest-Mendozas
When: Friday, October 18, 2024 5-8pm
What: Step into the spotlight for some backyard karaoke! Kids will have a chance to take the stage for their solos and then the floor is open for grownups to join in. Snacks included.
Where: Mar Vista home near the school
Who: Walgrove Students (Kids 8+ can be dropped-off, younger kiddos must have an adult* stay to help)
Cost: $70 per family (5 max), $50 (1 parent, 1 kid) or $30 per kid (3rd – 5th graders only)

Walgrove’s 1st Annual Beer Pong Showdown (October 26)
Throwback to your college glory days with some beer games!

What: Join us for a night of kicking it back to the past with comfort food, drinking games (beer pong! flip cup!), music, dancing and good vibes in a beautiful Mar Vista backyard. Teams will be encouraged to come dressed in a theme and prizes will be awarded for costumes and games..

Fun & Games with Goofy Gil (October 27)
Games and Magic and Goofy Times, oh my!
Hosted by the Barto / Margeson / Wityak families
When: Sunday October 27, 2-4pm
What: Bring the littles out to the park for an afternoon of games and a magic show! Snacks included plus get to learn how to do a magic trick! Featuring Walgrove parents Gil and Jojo Santoscoy

Sip, Swap & Shop (November 7)
Come refresh your wardrobe with friends and wine!
Hosted by Christine Mele, Cassandra Young, Allison Studin
When: Thursday November 7, 6-9PM
What: Bring your best threads and accessories to this stylish ladies night out where we can shop our friends’ closets while we eat light bites and drink wine! Bring 5 to 10 items in great condition to swap with another parent, all for the price of $40.00— even if you don’t have anthing to bring, sip, snack and shop!! Good times will be had 🙂

Family Trivia Night (November 10)
Come show off your family smarts!
Hosted by the O’Sullivan family
When: Sunday November 10, 6-8pm
What: Show off your smarts! Gather your team (max 5 players/team) and head over to O’Briens for a Sunday evening showdown! Bonus: there’s no school the next day! Ticket includes admission to trivia and snacks. A percentage of the proceeds from add’l menu orders will benefit Walgrove.

Walgrove Winter Wonderland (December 8)
Hosted by the Beam/Leal, Studin, Young/Gray, and Margeson families
When: SUNDAY, 12/8/24
What: The North Pole will be temporarily moved to Venice at the Beam residence for one fabulous day.
Come for the snow, snacks and hot chocolate – then stay for ornament making and pictures with Santa!
No matter what holiday you celebrate this time of year, there will be fun to be had in our winter wonderland.
