What are Walgroovies?
Walgroovies are gatherings hosted by school families designed to bring together the Walgrove community while fundraising on behalf of the school. Walgroovy events range from family movie night to kids’ craft parties to dinner parties for adults.
How do they make money?
Walgroovies are sponsored and paid for entirely by host families. Each event has a requested per person or per family donation. All of the money donated by event attendees goes straight to Friends of Walgrove.
100% of ALL donations goes to fund our enrichments and teachers’ aides.

Afternoon Tea & Nails Party (April 4)

What: Friday afternoon tea, while getting your nails done, what could be better?? Bring on the sparkles!
Where: Mar Vista home near the school. Transport to the party will be coordinated with parents.

Adult Karaoke & BBQ! (April 26)
Come sing and eat your heart out at KAROKE & BBQ!

What: Get ready for some epic Karaoke & killer BBQ with friends, outside with professional karaoke setup! Dinner and drinks will be served.

Tarot with a Twist: Cacio e Pepe (April 30)

When: Wednesday, April 30, 2025
What: A magical evening where we’ll explore the cross section of food and spirituality. Cacio e Pepe Tarot is a deck and accompanying guidebook, with each of its 78 cards representing a unique food, dish or culinary concept that can be used as a tool for self discovery. One of the deck’s co-creators, Lindsey Newton will be offering personalized Tarot readings to those who attend.
To help deepen the experience, we’ll have wine and bites that are specifically aligned with a few of the cards in the deck.

Rediscover Center Kids Workshop (May 2)
Hosted by The Studin Family
When: Friday, May 2, 2025 After School
What: Does your child love to make stuff? Then they should try a woodworking workshop at Rediscover Center Venice; a sustainable makers space. The workshop starts with a short tools training on safely using clamps, drills and hand saws, then introduces a theme or design challenge for the tinkerers to build individually or in small groups. Kids must be 8 and older to participate in the woodworking workshop. Transportation to Rediscover Center afterschool Friday May 2 will be provided and parents will be responsible for pickup.

Beer Pong Tournament @ O’Brien’s (May 3rd)

What: Didn’t get enough drinking game fund at the Auction Party?? Get yourself a teammate or play as a single in an epic beer pong tournament. Join us for a night of kicking it back to the past with some fun drinking games and good vibes on the O’Brien’s patio. Teams encouraged to come dressed in a theme and winners will go home with fun prizes.
