Why teaching? Since I was in elementary school I wanted to be a teacher. So while I was in college I volunteered and worked with kids at local schools. Hearing some of the students tell me “I get it now” was a real inspiration for me to get a teaching credential.
What makes Walgrove a special place? I have been at Walgrove for over 20 years. I have seen many changes, all for the better of the community. My colleagues who share their ideas, the parents who are excited for their child and the students who are ready to learn makes Walgrove a special place.
Who/what inspires you? Believe it or not, the children inspire me. When they don’t get it and when they do get it is what gets me to work for new strategies and ideas. Children are my inspiration.
If you were not teaching, what would you be doing? If I were not teaching, I would adopt an animal. I would train the animal to follow commands. I can’t keep chickens where I live, so I would probably adopt a dog, maybe a rabbit. If I had the time, I would like to train the dog to run through agility courses and catch frisbees.
