Friends of Walgrove (FOW) has an annual operating budget of over $250,000 which pays for vital supplements and enrichments for Walgrove students including STEAM Studio, PS Arts theater arts program, Outdoor Education (our one acre native garden “Wildlands” and Edible Garden), instructional aides, free yearbooks for all students, a free after school musical theater program, and much more. FOW raises the money in a variety of ways, including:

GoFundWE! Walgrove’s Annual Fund allows Walgrove families and community members to contribute on a one-time or monthly basis to the success of Walgrove’s programs. Our yearly goal is $150,000 and 100% participation at any level from all families. Please contribute here.

Dine Outs – Support Walgrove while enjoying a night on the town! Local restaurants donate 10-15% of their proceeds during a given night to Walgrove. Gather, eat, hang out and raise money for the school! Know a local restaurant who’d like to participate? Contact fundraising@friendsofwalgrove.com and let us know!

Walgroovies are gatherings hosted by school families designed to bring together the Walgrove community while fundraising on behalf of the school.  Walgroovy events range from family movie night to kids’ craft parties to dinner parties for adults. Walgroovies are sponsored and paid for entirely by host families.  Each event has a requested per person or per family donation. All of the money donated by event attendees goes straight to Friends of Walgrove.

WEMoves!  – The whole school is out on the big yard all afternoon and the kids really look forward to walking around the track and dancing for 30 minutes. WEMoves! fundraising raises money for two of our kids’ favorite programs: P.S. ARTS and musical theater.

Auction – Our annual online auction and live auction party are some of our biggest fundraisers of the year. We’re incredibly grateful to our community for supporting Walgrove with donations every year.

Holiday Market is our annual gift and craft fair which takes place on front lawn on the day of the Holiday Performance. Local makers and businesses set up a booth and sell their goods/food and donate a percentage back to Walgrove.

Community Partnerships – Walgrove Elementary is incredibly lucky to have generous neighborhood partners who support our students. If you are a local businessperson or know a business who is interested in becoming a banner sponsor, please contact fundraising@friendsofwalgrove.com for details.

Ralph’s Rewards – Connect your Kroger or Ralphs Rewards card to Friends of Walgrove and all Kroger stores (King Soopers, Smart and Final, City Market, etc) will donate every time you shop! Spread the word to friends and family in any city with Krogers brand stores! 

Literati Book Fair, a childhood rite of passage, also allows Walgrove to raise additional funds for the school. Walgrove hosts one book fair in the fall around Back to School Night and one in the spring around Open House.
