Strings by the Sea
Strings by the Sea was founded by late Walgrove Elementary Kindergarten teacher Orlantha Ambrose, for whom the Center for the Performing Arts is named, and is continued through the volunteer efforts of her former student, Daniella Villalobos.
Strings by the Sea provides free violin lessons and a violin to any 2nd-5th grader who is willing to learn to play. This group was created not only as a way to bring classical music training to young children, but to build a community of children who are proud of what they can achieve. In this group your children will grow from kids to young musicians who will learn a whole new language that will help them discover new strengthens.
This class includes a violin for each student, a music book, and an hour of after-school class each week. The group performs at least two concerts per year for the Walgrove community.
